As a truly Sri Lankan brand that is committed to supporting sports and inspiring athletes to
unlock their fullest potential, SLT-MOBITEL powered the recently concluded Nuwara Eliya Golf
Club (NEGC) Club Championship 2022 as the exclusive telecommunication partner.
Held at the Club Course in Nuwara Eliya, Kusal Johnpillai emerged as the champion after
accumulating a 157 score on both days. Meanwhile, Suhaib Sangani, another veteran in the
arena, emerged as runner-up with 164 points. Johnpillai also was in sparkling form taking away
the Annual Gold Medal award which was awarded for the Best Gross score on day one.
The competition saw the participation of over 80 golfers, and Sangani (A), Johnpillai (B), Rohan
Amirthiah (C) and Dr. A Amunugama (Masters) won their respective segments in the Nett
events. The three-day event kicked off with the Graham Sinclair Cup, which was followed by the
Annual Gold Medal and concluded with the main event, the Club Championship.
SLT-MOBITEL powering the NEGC Club Championship 2022 is in line with the brand’s
commitment to empowering skills and connecting people from the Golfing fraternity. Earlier in
the year, SLT-MOBITEL also powered the inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament
2022.
